Welcome to the pattern making pages, Page 1.

Subject: MG Lola Le Mans 2001
Gallery Page1   Page2    Page3    Page4    Page5    Page6    Page7

It is my hope that others will do as I had in 1983 and discover that I could make patterns for bodies. Back in the early days, there were allot of different pattern and mold makers.

There are different methods to make patterns and you may find that you find a system that works better for you. I will try and cover at least two methods that I use.

Anything that is in red is a correction.

The first step is to research your subject to get as much information as possible. You also need to know the most common measurements such as the wheelbase, length, and width. You need a scale drawing and pictures.

My apologies for the low resolution of the drawing it was necessary.

Step 2

You will need a pattern making material as wood or, a tooling resin as I will use. You should start out with it in block form.
